3rd Year Professional Project: After Party

After Party was a game prototype created for the 3rd year Professional Projects module by Sonder Games. Myself and 6 other team members were brought together for the Abertay Challenge brief. This brief asked us to create a game based around teaching young adults about the issue of consent and safe sex, the issue was certainly tricky and hard to make into a game but I like to think that we had a really great idea. Our clients were WRSAC (Women's Rape & Sexual Abuse Center) and RASAC Perth & Kinross. For this brief I took upon the challenge of becoming the producer and designer. The producer role taught me a lot about managing a team, making sure the team achieved milestones, attending meetings with the clients and presenting ideas. I also helped create assets within the game, designed levels and created mechanics.
Earlier in 2016 we entered our game prototype into the Games4Health competition (Hosted by University of Utah) and fortunately we went on to win the 'Popular Choice Award' which meant a lot to myself and the team.

On February 7th 2017 my team and I gave a presentation to SNP Minister of Social Security Jeane Freeman. In this presentation we were presenting our game concept showing that games can be made for change and learning purposes.
